Optimal Bites

Dr. Beshar incorporates proper function into all of his restorations. This means assessing the bite and planning the treatment for minimal wear and maximal comfort.

Functional Dentistry is the science of dentistry that balances and supports maximum function of the chewing system. This system includes the TM joint (jaw joint), the muscles and the teeth. While some patients have acceptable function, some bites cause increased wear because they are constricted, dysfunction or parafunction. The goal is to diagnose and treat these bite problems early. Dr. Beshar's patients benefit by feeling more comfortable, keeping their teeth for their lifetime, and treating the bite before excess wear occurs.

"A few years ago I suffered from jaw clenching which eventually led to broken teeth, jaw pain, broken crowns and constant dental problems. Dr. Beshar intended to not only put in some new crowns, but to completely rebalanced my jaw so my bit would be normal. The process was a complete success and I've never suffered from any of my original problems since."

- Tim Boyle

"I suffered headaches, every morning ... after Dr. Beshar balanced my bite I felt like a new person and have been symptom free for 4 years."

- L.S.

"Dr. Beshar noticed that my jaw and smile were crooked. After the bite adjustments I feel like my smile is straighten and my that dull ache jaw soreness had gone away."

- Alexa Simmonds
