Comprehensive Exams
Dr. Beshar performs the most complete and thorough Comprehensive Exam. After listening to the patients concerns, he collects the following data:
Medical
- Medical history and intra-oral and extra-oral cancer screening
- Complete set of intra-oral radiographs
Functional (joint health and chewing ability)
- TM Joint exam and ultra sound to detect early joint changes
- Mounted study models of mouth on an articulator with a bite registration
- Bite and chewing function assessment
- Grinding and/or clenching assessment
Periodontal (maintaining teeth for life)
- Periodontal pocket depth probing
- Measurement of recession
- Tissue inflammation assessment
- Family history of gum disease
Biomechanical (tooth breakdown and decay)
- Visual inspection of teeth.
- Laser measurement of depth of tooth grooves
- X-ray reading
Cosmetic (beautiful smiles)
- Discuss aesthetic concerns
- 20 cosmetic photographs
- Record tooth shade
- Tooth length measurements
This gives Dr. Beshar a clear picture of all areas of the patient's oral health. A risk profile is created for each category so that the patient can understand where their own genetics put them at risk as well as where they have exceptional health.
Dr. Beshar and his team of specialists (Periodontist, Endodontist, Oral Surgeon, Orthodontist) gather to discuss and devise the proper treatment plan.
The patient returns for a Case Presentation to review their goals, discuss problems and possible solutions, timing, costs and insurance benefits.
