Dental Implants
The dental implant was first introduced in the United States in 1985. Today, patients can have a non-removable tooth replacement that looks and functions like a natural tooth. These implants can secure larger spans of missing teeth or the entire upper or lower jaw.
Dr. Beshar has been working with implants since 1987. The benefit of his service is that he personally places the implants so they are ideally situated where he will then restore them. He is certified by Nobel Biocare and lectures implant implementation to other dentists. Dr. Beshar uses state of the art implant technology and focuses on a comfortable and pleasant experience for the patient.
Dr. Beshar will take an x-ray and a model to study the quality and quantity of bone available (A CAT-SCAN is sometimes needed). Your treatment plan will then be presented.
- If a tooth is going to be extracted, we can sometimes place the implant the same day. Some cases we wait 2 months for healing.
- Placing an implant takes about 2 hours. The goal is to minimize any trauma to the area. This means that it is a comfortable and gentle experience for the patient.
- An implant usually takes 4 to 6 months to heal completely. When Dr. Beshar has placed the implant, it is quick and easy to restore because he has already taken the impression at the time of implant placement.
